The interactive revolution

Since the introduction of the modern touch-screen in 1977, developed and patented by the US firm Elographics, it is widely recognised as a convenient and flexible way to allow interaction between a person and a computer. The benefits to advertisers and information providers are obvious, but until now they have remained tantalisingly close, and often frustratingly out of reach because of the specialist content management software required.

Now, for the first time, Save9 offers a convenient, flexible and cost effective content-managed touch-screen solution that has been developed to get the best out of informing or selling directly to a customer base.

iPos offers quick and easy uploading of digital content through a simple web browser.

The provision of a tightly integrated back-end database system to effectively manage digital video, animations, sound, music, text and images in a precise and timely manner is a core function of iPos. No complicated software is required, just a simple web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) and a template driven structure ensures a company's corporate identity is tightly brand controlled.

iPos Service Architecture is highly scalable from day one with a single iPos server capable of hosting 1,024 real-time digital screens on-site

Standard computer networks and existing PC's or displays can be used to form the basis of an iPos site. The client decides what hardware is required and what interactivity is best suited for the chosen environment.

iPos is based on Internet technologies and formats

This means that content management personnel can source and present sophisticated multimedia content such as animations, graphics, music, HTML files and digital video from thousands of design and media companies around the world. FLASH, QuickTime (MOV), WMV, HD, DivX, Xvid, MPEG4, AVI and Windows Media Player formats are some of the animation and digital video standards that are supported by iPos. Images in JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIF and PNG formats can be displayed with breathtaking clarity. Stereo Sound support includes WAV, AC3 and MP3 formats with optional surround sound modes for maximum impact in a multi-speaker setup.

iPos multimedia messaging can be configured in a mixture of four modes; instantaneous, scheduled, carousel (unattended operation cycling through pre-set screens) and randomised. It can also be targeted at specific screens over multiple sites

Up-to-the-second targeted delivery of multimedia messaging at the click of a button makes the delivery of information, promotions, digital movies, special offers, competitions and advertising a remarkably simple and straightforward process.

Customer health & safety announcements

Pre-determined evacuation announcements or customer warnings can be presented rapidly from the iPos web-based interface. For security reasons only authorised personnel with top-level access privileges are granted this control via a web browser on or off-site.

Automatic information extraction from 3rd party systems saves time, ensures rapid information delivery and prevents errors

The iPos system can be scheduled to automatically retrieve content from outside data sources. A perfect example is a Box Office system used within a cinema - data such as show titles, presentation times, ticket prices, seating availability and film ratings with extra links to movie poster graphics can be imported on-the-fly. With a vast array of information and ticketing systems on the market iPos supports many database and text file imports, including XML. Save9 are happy to work closely with your current systems providers to ensure accurate communication of combined data across communication display systems.
